		<description>I recken it depends on the road as some are more dangerouse a quiet country lane would probibly be safe while a busy motorway known for car crashes would be dangerouse but as you say accidents can happen even on quiet country lanes.</description>

		<description>There are certainly risks, but cycling in general is not a &quot;dangerous&quot; activity compared to other common activities like driving, walking or playing basketball.

Participation in competitive cycling increases the risks somewhat (as illustrated so well in the video), which is why I advocate helmet use for competitive cycling.</description>
