- Peaking the form with analysis. Colin Griffith uses the software from Trainingpeaks to optimize his performance with power meter training. Acute and chronic training load is further discussed in this interview with Dirk Friel.
- How to shave your legs. I will not start a discussion on why cyclists should or shouldn’t do this, but if you have decided to shave your legs then Levi has certainly written a well explained guide on this topic.
- Tour de l’Avenir 2008. Only 60 riders finished this race due to a very tough course. I wonder if the Tour de France society will implement some of stage finishes from this course, because these finishes made the race a lot more spectacular than the real Tour de France. Read about one of my riders training sessions before Tour de l’Avenir.
- Did muscle efficiency made Lance Armstrong a Tour de France winner? There is (again again…) a debate about Lance Armstong’s 7 consecutive wins in Tour de France going on. Skeptics have argued that such a dramatic transformation was impossible without doping. Lance Armstrong has repeatedly denied ever using doping. Now, Edward F. Coyle has acknowledged making an error in his long-term study of Armstrong’s muscle efficiency. There are some great additional thoughts from a Ross Tucker here.
